On August 17, 2013 at Rock Cats stadium, over 1,200 volunteers gathered to feed over 4.500 residents of a city once glorified as the hardware capitol of the world. “ Fire in the Heart of the City” is a documentary film that will chronicle all the stories, interviews, fundraisers and testimonies of hope which sum up to the Convoy New Britain Event” on August 17, 2013. The "Convoy New Britain" was a powerful event and was the third event of the annual community "Purpose" event. There will be two versions of the film. The first will be the film itself that traces the path from the initial Purpose event to the Convoy, and the second will be a deluxe version complete with studio interviews from prominent local social activists including Jody Davis of Coram Deo, Paulette Fox of OIC, national spoken word artist Michael "Chief" Peterson, and many more!
